Disc Golf & Discathon Course  (Google Map)

Morley Field Disc Golf Course and Sports Complex – Morley Field was established by Snapper Pierson (course pro and Disc Golf Hall of Fame member) in 1978 making one of the original disc golf courses in the world. Only a few miles from the San Diego Intl. Airport, San Diego Harbour, Coronado Beaches, beautiful Downtown San Diego, and directly across from the San Diego Zoo, this makes Morley a destination course with a personality all its own. The course overall isn’t long but it does have a few lengthy holes and it‘s beautifully maintained by the shop employees and features Mach III baskets and concrete tee pads. The course is very challenging, with many trees and tough pin placements.Morley Field has a pro shop (other side of rest rooms) for all of your disc golf and refreshment needs.

Disc Golf Event Info

The Golf event will be contested at Morley Field Disc Golf Course. This is an iconic disc golf course, third oldest permanent course in the world, dating back to the mid-late 1970s. It was established by Snapper Pierson, who has since passed the course management duties to his son, Alex.

Alex is working with us to provide a good tournament-friendly layout. We will play all 19 holes for two rounds (Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, starting at 4pm), with a cut to a final 9 for the top 8 men and top 3 women players. That final will be played at 9am Friday morning.

Allen Risley will be event coordinator for disc golf. He is a very experienced tournament director, most notably for the Goat Hill Challenge, which has been a PDGA stop for a few years. Guaranteed to run smoothly under his supervision.

Play on Tuesday and Thursday will be a shotgun start. Friday will be Women, Open 5-8, Open 1-4.

*NOTE* All scores will carry over from first two round to final 9.

2-meter rule *WILL* be in effect.

Player meeting 30 minutes prior to round on Tues/Thurs. We will start on time at 4pm. Rounds should take roughly 3 hours.
